K-Cinema | Three Sisters (세자매)
Three sisters, three utterly distinct personalities, and one doomed family reunion. Hee-sook is a worrywart and a devoted housewife. Mi-yeon is a devout Catholic choirmaster but a paper tiger. And Mi-ok is a dramatic and eccentric artist given to fits of anger and drink. Reunited on their father's birthday, these three women must finally revisit their difficult family past.
Director Lee Seung-won's effective 2021 drama pairs top acting talent and cutting storytelling characterized by universal themes of family strife and the power of forgiveness. Presented in Korean with English subtitles; 80 minutes; not rated.
