Family Day: Celebration of Textiles, Korea

Free & Open to the Public


Celebrate Korean fashion and culture throughout the day with exhibition tours, artist demonstrations, hands-on weaving, quilting, embroidery, paper art, and other craft activities, K-pop dancing by District K, and performances by Washington Sorichung, Washington Samulnori, and Di Dim Sae Korea Traditional Arts Institute. Presented in partnership with the George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum.



About the Exhibitio"Korean Fashion: From Royal Court to Runway"

Innovations in fashion, music, film, and other arts have propelled Korea to the forefront of the world’s creative stage. This major exhibition explores the extraordinary transformation of Korean costume and fashion over the last 125 years, from the late Joseon dynasty to today’s couture and cutting-edge street fashion.

11 a.m. Korean vocal and folk musical performance by Washington Sorichung

12:30 p.m. Korean percussion musical performance by Washington Samulnori

2 p.m. Korean drumming and dancing performace by Di Dim Sae Korea Traditional Arts Institute

3:30 p.m. Korean pop dance performance by GW student organization District K
