K-Cinema at Home: Man of Men (Nov. 22 – 28)
synopsis
Once an infamous lawyer who worshipped money, Jang-su (Seol Kyung-gu) is suddenly diagnosed with a terminal illness. As his world crumbles, Jang-su's dreary days are shaken up by Young-ki (Cho Jin-woong), a low-life gangster whose court-ordered community service to the ill brings them together. Young-ki is unrefined and authentic--a breath of fresh air for Jang-su, who asks for help completing his bucket list. Young-ki initially accepts for the money, but neither of the two realize they're about to embark on a life-changing journey together.
Based on the hit 2011 French film The Intouchables, director Yong Soo's inventive take on the familiar story in Man of Men won audiences for its seamless and uplifting blend of humor and melancholy.
