K-Cinema at Home: The Dude in Me (July 19 - 25)
synopsis
In a freak accident, introverted and bullied high school student Kim Dong-hyun (Jung Jin-young) slips from the edge of a building and lands on career criminal turned savvy entrepreneur Jang Pan-su (Park Sung-woong). Pan-su awakes in the hospital to find himself trapped in the body of an awkward teenager: Dong-hyun! Pan-su is forced to clean house in Dong-hyun’s personal life and even crosses paths with his old flame Oh Mi-sun (Ra Mi-ran), the mother of Dong-hyun’s classmate. But when his criminal rivals close in, the whole family must get involved to figure a way out of this mess.
Director Kang Hyo-jin’s 2019 comedy The Dude In Me hit it off with audiences thanks to its stellar casting, inversion of cultural norms, and fresh spin on the familiar body swap device.
